For downhill rides in cross-country style, a fork with at least 100-120mm of travel and a lockout feature would be suitable. This amount of travel provides enough cushioning for rough terrain while still maintaining efficiency for climbing. The lockout feature allows the rider to stiffen the fork for better power transfer on flat or uphill sections of the trail. Additionally, a fork with adjustable rebound and compression settings would be beneficial for fine-tuning the fork's performance to suit the rider's preferences and the specific trail conditions. **
